CREATING A MONOTYPE - Demonstration

Creating an image on the plate:
An image is created on a plexiglass plate using inks or paint.

To the press:
The plate is placed on the press. Paper is laid over the inked plate.

Pressure applied:
The plate and paper are covered with felt blankets and run under the strong pressure of a press.

Pulling the print:
The pressure of the press infuses the ink or paint into the paper. The paper is lifted from the plate and the image is revealed. The single, unique image created is the monotype.
